Matoba Yuko Japan 
 
Born in 1949.Matoba Yuko is Honorary Professor of Japan Women's College of Physical Education(Tokyo).  She was teaching Western music and theory. She is now teaching Carnatic music as a Lecturer of the Eastern Academy(Tokyo).
 
She graduated Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Musicology in Japan. She received music instruction under 
the guidance of Prof. Fumio Koizumi.
She studied Carnatic music at Gt. music college of Tamil   
Nadu in 1972. Since then she has been active in Veena performing and research work. 
 
She learned veena from Smt.Rajalakshmi Narayanan, Smt. Kalpakam Swaminathan, Sri M. Nageswara Rao, Smt. M. Sarada, Smt. N. Vijayalakshmi.  She had also rhythm training 
from Prof. N. Govindarajan. 
 
She had veena concert with Smt.N.Vijayalakshmi at Sri Tyagaraja Samajam, Nadopasana & Sri Ram Samaj(cromepet) in 2007. Veena Navaratri at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and 
MLA Concerts by Guru Kaaraikudi Mani(Chennai)in 2013.  
Recently She participates to VEEA UTSAVAM(Chennai) held 
in September every year organizing by Sri. Kannan 
Balakrishnan.
 
She has veena concert  in Japan and introduces 
Carnatic Music there.
